7️⃣🏉 YEAR 11 BOYS @ ROSSLYN PARK 🏉7️⃣
Before the Easter break, our Year 11 Boys made history (so we’ve been told) by becoming the first ever Milford Haven School rugby team to enter and compete at the ‘Rosslyn Park National School Sevens’ in London. This is a tremendous accolade to play against schools based in different countries. The evenings consisted of quizzes, birthday celebrations, and a very competitive air hockey tournament! The boys represented themselves and the school impeccably well and thoroughly enjoyed the occasion.
With over 200 schools competing in the Under 16’s Colts Competition and the group stage results were as follows:
Match 1
Milford Haven School 3️⃣4️⃣1️⃣4️⃣ Orleans Park School
A blistering start to the game saw the boys put in a great performance in the first match which helped ease nerves and produced positive running rugby.

Alfie Thomas 🏉
Cruz Findlay 🏉
Henry Mayhew 🏉
Corey Riley 🏉
Dylan McGuire 🏉🎯🎯
Match 2
Milford Haven School 3️⃣1️⃣2️⃣6️⃣ Reigate Grammar School
In a real even encounter, the game was extremely close and swayed back and forth with the team trailing 31-26 with seconds remaining, until a well worked try finished off under the posts followed by a successful conversion meant MHS won the game in the final moment.

Match 3
Milford Haven School 1️⃣4️⃣3️⃣6️⃣ Whitgift School
The final group game was a ‘winner takes all’ match with both schools winning the first two group games. We were against a top quality school who played an extreme amount of rugby who progressed to the latter stages of the competition but the boys kept going and scored two well worked tries.

It was a successful and enjoyable two days for this group of boys who were part of this fantastic experience in their final year at Milford Haven School. Mr Butland and Mr Martin were fortunate to be a part of the experience and could not have been any prouder of the 12 who participated. We would like to thank Ms Butterworth for all her hard work leading up to this wonderful trip. The whole school is extremely proud of you all – da iawn boys! 🤩
Thank you to TY Hotel for sponsoring our players kit.
