Bags of Books 2023 – Bagiau o Lyfrau 2023
In our bid to support and develop strong literacy skills and a love of reading for pleasure in our young people and wider community we were excited to bring back our popular annual Bags of Books event. Teaming up with Milford Youth Matters we took the Bags of Books on tour visiting Primary Schools within the Milford Haven Cluster of Schools including Milford Haven Community Primary, Coastlands, Johnston, St Francis, and Gelliswick and over 100 books were tied to the school fences at each location. Milford Haven School then followed suit after the Easter Holidays and another 100+ books were available for the community to come and take for their pleasure. Thank you to the community who came along and enjoyed our Bags of Books event.

Mental Health Awareness Week – Wythnos Ymwybyddiaeth Iechyd Meddwl
Mental Health Awareness Week is an ideal time for us all to think about mental health, tackle stigma, and find out how we can create a society that prevents mental health problems from developing and protects our mental well-being. Pupils here at MHS have discovered that being kind to yourself is an important part of wellbeing and if you are kind to yourself it helps you to be kind to others. Da iawn to these pupils who made a video with hints and tips about how we can be kinder to ourselves.

Dive Trip – Taith Plymio
We have some PADI SCUBA divers and Ocean Influencers! The girls had a fantastic trip and got to complete two open water dives. The school could not be prouder of the group, they have mucked in at the camp, worked hard, supported each other in and out the water and done nothing but raise each other up all week.

They have all learned the value of teamwork, friendship and cooperation as well as an increased love of our oceans! With Mr Wheeler as our camp hero looking after us all it has been a super week! Thank you so so much for having us Dive Project Cornwall!

GCSE POD is a fantastic resource which Milford Haven School continues to promote amongst learners and their parents/carers.

GCSE POD holds a wealth of support for a range of subjects, with some content specific for KS3 as well as KS4. Learners are encouraged to use their MHS Google log-in to access the site and start exploring the site which could prove extremely beneficial for our KS4 learners.
Please look at the following parent site tour where you can see what is on offer: https://bit.ly/2P1hJKZ
Young person’s mental health toolkit from HWB.
Below is a link to the young person’s mental health toolkit from HWB, designed for 11 to 25-year-olds. Here you will find six playlists to direct you to a wide range of online resources to help you through the lockdown and beyond. In each of the playlists you’ll find self-help websites, apps, helplines, and more that are here to support your mental health and well-being.
Please remember: if you’re finding it difficult to cope, make sure you speak to someone you trust. Who this might be is different for everyone, but it might include family members or carers, a teacher, a helpline, or a doctor. How you feel is important and lots of people are here to help if you need them.
