Β MHS year 9 netball tournament Monday 29th January.
Players player– Daisy Kerrison
Coaches player– Ffion Williams
The year 9 girls had a brilliant day at the netball tournament on Monday.
The girls all played extremely well, continuing to smile, enjoy the game and staying in high spirits.
The girls showed fantastic comradery and team spirit throughout, all of them tried 100% in every area on the court.
Β
There was some progressive centre play, creating space and structure to the team from Ffion Williams and Daisy Kerrison. Ella Jenkins and Hallie Rickard demonstrating their dynamic and versatile skills on the court, with successful defending strategies. All the girls battled until the very end, improving their marking, defensive tactics and structure within the second and third game.
Β
The opposition from Caer Elen, Fishguard, YHT and Haverfordwest High were very strong on the attack, but MHS showed resilience and teamwork, with Seren Prettyman, Lola Okell and Honey Thomas making some excellent counter attacks and structure to the game.

🌧️ MONDAY 29th JANUARY 🌧️
On Monday evening we hosted 4 fixtures against Ysgol CaerElen and we have reports of the matches in the following order;
πŸ‰ Year 7 Boys Rugby
⚽️ Year 7/8 Girls Football
πŸ‰ Year 9 Boys Rugby
⚽️ Year 10/11 Girls Football
Everyone represented the school exceptionally well and all pupils should be proud of their efforts! A massive well done for playing in awful conditions from the PE department and whole schoolplease keep it up, we are proud of you all! πŸ’ͺπŸ‘ #TEAMMHS πŸ”΅πŸŸ‘

πŸ‰ YEAR 7 BOYS RUGBY πŸ‰
The year 7 boys played some excellent rugby and displayed fantastic handling skills despite challenging weather conditions, against a hardworking Caer Elen team. The first half started with a range of quick tries from Dylan W and Yori W, showing excellent footwork and power to break through the defence and score fantastic individual tries. However, Caer Elen came back into the game with some brave turnovers and powerful carries. The Milford defence was tested and the boys put in a fantastic shift to keep them from scoring.
The second half was followed with a continued effort and teamwork from the Milford boys they regrouped and continued scoring tries from a range of different areas of the pitch. With two held up tries in the second half the boys weren’t discouraged and continued attacking threat and good rucking and handling skills allowed Ethan H and Iestyn to score brilliant team tries. Solid defence and accuracy in attack secured a fantastic victory of 45-0 to Milford. Da iawn bechgyn!

⚽️ YEAR 7/8 GIRLS FOOTBALL ⚽️
The girls dominated the game from the start, creating lots of space and skill to get shots on goal, they defended well and kept possession most of the game. They scored 2 goals early on in the game and had great positivity throughout. Unfortunately, in the last 5 minutes of the game we only played with 10 girls and they took full advantage and managed to equalise the score, finishing the game 2-2. Excellent football played and we can’t wait to see your next game. Thanks to Mr Owen who supported the girls.

πŸ‰ YEAR 9 BOYS RUGBY πŸ‰
The year 9 rugby team battled through the rain and managed to beat a strong Caer Elen side 35-15. Milford managed to put some nice phases together scoring some lovely tries out-wide. Despite the cold and wet weather, the Milford boys didn’t complain and put in a strong performance which will give them confidence going into their next game! πŸ‰ A massive thank you to year 11 Dylan McGuire giving up his time and for coaching the boys exceptionally well in the pouring rain, thank you Dylan!! πŸ‘
The boys will now look forward to playing Ysgol Bro Gwaun in another friendly! πŸ’ͺ
🌟 Players player – Bobby P 🌟
🌟 Coaches player – Jayden 🌟

⚽️ YEAR 10/11 GIRLS FOOTBALL ⚽️
Yr 10/11 Football vs YCE Girls played amazing despite the weather conditions. They had good control over the ball, just couldn’t get the shots on goal. Unfortunately, during the final few minutes of the game YCE managed to pull off a goal to secure the win for them.
All girls that played should be incredibly proud, especially as they only had 5 players in the correct age category and due to last minute pull outs two year 9’s and four year 8’s stepped up and helped the girls out! Gwaith Da!
🌟 Coaches player – Darcey P 🌟
