Please note that there is an important meeting on Tuesday July 9th from 6-7pm here at Milford Haven School, to share information on the proposed LRC. This engagement session offers the opportunity for parents and carers to discuss the proposed LRC at Milford Haven School. I hope to see many of you there.
A reminder that we have shared with the parents and carers of all Year 9 pupils an end of key stage 3 questionnaire. Your feedback is extremely valuable to us, and so we would appreciate as many responses as possible. A link has been shared on the school Facebook, WEDUC and Google Classroom.
Reward Trips: A reminder that the below trip letter went out a few weeks ago regarding the ‘End of Year Reward Trips’.
Some of the trips are full and remaining places will be allocated on a first come first serve basis, if pupils intend to go please note that the deadline to pay for places is July 10th.
I would like to thank all of the pupils and staff that were involved in today’s school Eisteddfod. It was an absolute pleasure to see so many pupils involved in a fantastic celebration of the vast talent here at Milford Haven School. Today was also a great opportunity to develop our House system, and I look forward to many more inter house competitions in the future.

It was a pleasure to welcome you all into Milford Haven School, and we look forward to you joining us in September. Please be aware that we have a dedicated page on our new website specifically covering all things transition related. We also encourage all Y6 parents to download the WEDUC app in readiness for September, as this school app will be our main method of sharing information with you.
IMPORTANT DATE FOR THE DIARY: Pupils of Milford Haven School will return in September on Wednesday 4.9.19, Monday the 2nd and Tuesday the 3rd will be INSET days for staff training and development.
On Tuesday and Wednesday this week a group of wonderful MHS pupils enjoyed a series of incredible lectures from Oxford and Cambridge University students, followed by a traditional Welsh Twmpath at the Urdd centre! The pupils worked extremely hard, represented the school to an extremely high standard and also found time to exploring Cardiff Bay and it’s many sights. A huge da iawn to all those involved, and a special thanks to the staff that supported this amazing opportunity.

Many of you may have already seen this on our FB page, but here is a reminder as you have to be in it to win it! All parent and carers that are signed up to WEDUC by Friday July 12th will automatically be entered into a prize draw for £25 cash during the last week of term. If you haven’t already signed up to WEDUC there is still plenty of time to download the app, sign up and be in with a chance of winning the cash prize! Pob lwc pawb.
On Tuesday we held a Bingo session at the Mount Community Centre. All prizes were ‘Mrs Hinch’ inspired hampers donated by Milford Haven School, we managed to raise £71 to support all of the valuable work done at the community centre for the town and its residents. We look forward to holding many more events at the Mount Community Centre next academic year, so please join us when you can and support a wonderful local facility.
Recommendation 6 of the Estyn Inspection report was to address the deficit budget. The
school is making progress in this area with robust financial management processes in place.
The school continues to work alongside the local authority and is developing a financial
recovery plan. In the last financial year the school has made significant savings with minimal
impact to the delivery of the curriculum. As such this level demonstrates the work that the
school has undertaken to reduce the deficit, through areas such as staffing restructures,
seeking grant income, benchmarking exercises and a review of all spend. The school
continues to face a challenging financial position but the Head, Governing Body and staff
continue to manage resources effectively and efficiently.
