World Book Day
Celebrating 25 years on 3rd March, pupils and staff at Milford Haven School enjoyed celebrating their love of books on World Book Day with exciting activities and competitions throughout the day. Walking through school was like stepping through the pages of your favourite childhood books as classroom doors transformed into scenes from Alice in Wonderland, Star Wars, Holes and more. Pupils took part in a World Book Day quiz in the library and enjoyed spending their tokens on the books that were available to purchase.
Pembrokeshire Business Women makes it into Amazon bestseller.
Pupils and staff at Milford Haven School celebrated the success of Kelly Monroe during International Women’s Day. Alongside other inspirational women, her story sits in an Amazon best-selling book. Kelly’s story makes up chapter 12 of Inspirational Women in Business 2.
We are very proud that we get the opportunity to work with Kelly and the team from Really Pro Ltd and look forward to working with them again on the ‘Thrive Project’.
10 x Challenge
Year 9 Business students were given a challenge to turn £10 investments into profit. Armed with the products purchased from their original £10, they hosted a very successful enterprise event in the ASPIRE suite this week.
They sold sweets, drinks, raffle tickets, jewellery, cards, stickers and gifts to turn their £10 investments into profit.

Lets talk careers!
Pupils in Daring House were treated to an inspirational careers talk this week. William Goodall from Welsh Water gave them the opportunity to ask questions and offered some fantastic advice. Pupils and staff of Daring House would like to say a huge thank you for this amazing opportunity.
Our House
This week saw the long awaited return of the Drama Club to the school stage, and boy was it worth the wait! The cast and crew were very excited to bring the story of ‘Our House’ to life on stage this week. The musical, based on the music of Madness, is a rollercoaster ride that brings to life feelings of love, friendship, family connections and greed. It is a fantastic show and one that everyone enjoyed watching.
Mr Sayers, the Director said “the cast have been working tirelessly over the last few months to bring the story to life and I am so proud of each and every one of them. They are a talented bunch who have given their all to the production. They are as happy as I am to get back to making live theatre and were thrilled to welcome you all to Milford Haven School. Thank you to everyone for your support”.
Ms Morris said “I would like to congratulate the Crew, Musicians, Backstage team, and Staff on the opening night of MHS ‘Our House’.  Our pupils are involved in all groups with over 40 pupils taking part in one team or another. It is a huge achievement to be able to put on a performance for the community given the challenges that we have all faced over the last two years and wonderful to welcome so many of you through our doors and meet face to face once again. The talent we have at Milford Haven School is superb”.
The new ALN system
The new Additional Learning Needs – ALN system is being phased in over 3 years and started in September 2021. The ALNET Act and ALN Code sets out how children and young people aged 0-25 with ALN will be supported by a Person Centred Process-PCP, with the child to give an overview of how learners who have (or may have) additional needs will be supported in schools and settings.
If you are wondering how your child or young person’s ALN needs are going to be supported under the new system, please use the link below to access an informative leaflet from Parent Partnership:
