Happy New Year – Blwyddyn Newydd Dda
A new year provides opportunities for a fresh start.
Speech. What you say to yourself and to others matters.
Time. Time is an investment. What takes up most of your time? Don’t waste it, invest it. For
example, at breaktime, are you playing games on your phone or connecting with people and
making friends? Every minute, every day, counts.
Attitude. What perspective do you approach situations with? What is your default attitude?
Reactions. How do you respond to situations? With anger? Or self-control?
Talents. How are you going to use and develop your talents this year?

A new term and a new year bring with them new opportunities and the chance for a ‘fresh
start’. The old term and the old year are behind us, so it is time to move on into the future.

Everything but The Bird Hampers
On the last day of term MHS pupils and staff were busy preparing Christmas food hampers that contained everything for a Christmas dinner apart from the meat.

A project that started during Covid has since grown due to the direct impact of the cost of living crisis. Milford Haven School run multiple projects throughout the year to inject as much support as possible for families living within their catchment area and during the festive season their Everything but the Bird hampers is on of their favourite projects to run.

Pupils are enthusiastic and empathetic as they pack the local produce ready for a team of staff to deliver on the last day of term. One pupil said ‘I am so proud to go to this school, we always help those in need and it’s nice to think that people get help, especially at Christmas”

Thanks to funding from Milford Haven Town Council, Milford Haven School were able to continue the project for 2023.

Headteacher, Ms Morris said “I am always so proud of the pupils, staff and communities drive and determination to help those in need. These last few years have been humbling for many of us and we are now aware more than ever before of the greater need of our community. We are so thankful to Milford Haven Town Council for funding this project and allowing us to continue supporting our community.

MHS Year 8 Boys Friendly v Ysgol CaerElen (AWAY) – 11.01.24
Our Year 8 boys travelled to Ysgol Caer Elen to play a friendly on the 3G. A positive & determined performance led by Captain Charlie M seen the team win 4-1 after a clinical second half. 💪
After easing our way into the game, we opened the scoring in the 11th minute thanks to a composed finish from Morgan M, assisted by Zach. More chances come calling until the opposition then levelled the game just before half time. 🙌
In the second half we started on the front foot and managed to regain the lead in the 46th minute through a well taken finish from Zach assisted by Tyler D. Shortly after Zach scored a third after a superb individual effort from range! In amongst a host of second half substitutions we were able to seal the game with a good finish in the bottom corner from Charlie M assisted by Jaxon. 🤩
The whole squad played their part in a good game of football. It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying valuable shared game time in the first school fixture of 2024 with some playing their first school games! 👏
