A fantastic & spirited performance see the Year 10 boys football team come from behind & win the game 4-1 in emphatic fashion to qualify for the Welsh Cup Quarter-Finals, a magnificent achievement!! πŸ‘
After a scrappy & tense first half the score was 0-0 at half time. During half time the boys regrouped & after a change in formation, started the second half really well before falling behind 1-0 from a counter-attack. Then straight from kick off the boys replied with a well worked goal from Korey assisted by Ethan, just 1 minute between both goals as the score stood at 1-1.
Β
This moment was pivotal in the shaping of the match as it really spurred the boys on, with 20 minutes to go we took the lead thanks to another from Korey, this time assisted by Leo after a good passing move. Shortly after we won a corner, superbly delivered by Dylan and was headed home by skipper Reggie to make it 3-1, who defended immensely well throughout the game along with fellow defenders Isaac, Tommy & DeAnthony. Then as the match became more open there were spaces for our workman like midfield to control and dictate the game, then with 30 seconds left Rowan weaved in the box and won a penalty which was slotted home by Reggie. This goal was greeted with wild celebrations from everyone involved! πŸ‘
Β
It was a great SQUAD performance in what was a thrilling victory after a long journey up to Pontypridd! The big squad all played their part from start to finish in what was a fantastic second half display, again. Well done boys! πŸ‘
