We are delighted to announce the three words that make up the motto for each of our school Houses, these have been chosen by the pupils within each of our Houses over the past few weeks.
Daring: Be Brave. Be Bold. Be Daring.
Defender: Drive. Determination. Dedication.
Diamond: Shine. Smile. Succeed.
Dragon: Courage. Determination. Integrity.

A final reminder of the Rotary Competition Guidelines for the Young Photographer competition, submissions need to be in by the end of next week.
The task is to produce a portfolio of three photographs based upon the theme, ‘Through My Eyes’ in colour or black and white on photographic paper. The prints must be submitted individually. Each print, including any mount should be no larger than A4 size. Mobile Phones may be used in addition to cameras.

District competition winners, additionally, will be required to provide a digital copy in jpg format and ideally 5MB for an A4 sized print, on disc (CD-R) or memory stick, as part of the national final submission. Please ensure every photograph, disc or memory stick submitted is clearly labelled with the name of the entrant.
To accompany the portfolio, each entrant must provide a brief sentence describing the relationship of each photograph to the theme.
Please Note: Photographs which incorporate images of people under 18 years old must be accompanied by
written permission from the parent, guardian, or carer.

We have been requested to share some of the information and tips we give young people to stay safe when using their mobile phones. Here is a snippet of some of the great advice available to help our young people stay safe.

Mobile phones are a great way to keep in touch with your friends. But if someone you don’t know gets in touch with you, or you’re being bullied through your phone, you should tell someone who can help.

Try these mobile safety tips:

  • Keep your phone out of sight
If you’re worried about someone taking it, keep it hidden from sight
  • Be careful with your number
Only give it to your friends and people that you trust
  • Don’t lend your phone to someone you don’t know
Or put it in a place where other people could get hold of it
  • Use a PIN
Most phones allow you to lock your phone with a PIN code. If you don’t have the code you can’t unlock it, so if anyone steals your phone they won’t be able to use it
  • Don’t be pressured to give your number out
If someone is pressuring you into giving them your number, tell someone about it such as a teacher or a parent
  • Switch your Bluetooth off
If you have Bluetooth on your phone, keep it switched off when you are not using it.
  • Don’t accept friend requests from people you do not know
  • Block anyone that you do not wish to be able to contact you

A huge diolch to the incredible sixth form pupils pictured below, who worked tirelessly all afternoon on Tuesday to serve Christmas dinner for over 30 local residents at the Mount Community Centre!
The event would not have been possible without your hard work, and as always we are proud of you beyond measure. Thank you so much. 🎄♥️🎅

We are very excited to be hosting a wreath making workshop here at Milford Haven School next week as detailed in the above poster. A huge thank you to everyone that has booked a place, the event is now full, and we hope that all those attending have a wonderful evening.

Politics is a hot topic at the moment, pupils at MHS have been learning about the general election this week and some of the key issues being debated. Next week the whole school will have a chance to take part in a mock election, in preparation for this Phillipa Thompson took part in a Q & A with some of our pupils this week. Da iawn to all those involved.

The following letter is in the process of being given out to KS4 pupils for the upcoming reward trip to Winter Wonderland.

Any pupils that have not received a letter can see their Head of House to request one, and discuss whether they will be eligible to have a place.
