As most of you will already be aware from the letter shared today, we have been informed this morning that an individual at our school has tested positive for Covid19.We would like to reassure you that there is no immediate cause for concern, and as always we are working hard to keep you informed so please continue to check our website, school app and social media platforms regularly.
FAMILY FORUM 5.30PM Monday 23.11.20
Please complete the google form below if you are a parent/ carer of a current MHS pupil and would like to be added to the mailing list for an invite to our virtual Family Forum next week. Diolch
On Friday 27.11.20 we will begin delivering our Wellbeing Friday afternoon sessions. More details can be found as to what sessions are running in the attached photos.
As you can see from our activity list, numbers are limited and places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Once signed up, parents will receive a confirmation email or a message to say the application has been successful. If an activity does not appear on the form, this means that all places have been taken for this half term. Each half term the registers will refresh and we will share a new link to register for each new half term.
Please note that due to CVD restrictions we have specific limitations as to how many pupils can attend each session. You are required to register your child in advance should you wish for them to attend, pupils will not be able to just turn up on the day without signing up prior. Diolch
Here is the link to sign up if your child would like to attend any of the Wellbeing Friday sessions starting 27.11.20:
We are very proud to share with you that the grand total is in, for BBC Children in Need 2020 Milford Haven School raised a staggering £2359! Da iawn to everyone involved as this year truly was a whole school community event. Special thanks goes to our wonderful Sixth Form team, who have achieved something absolutely incredible during some extremely challenging circumstances. ❤️
🎁🎄Nominate your Neighbour 🎅🎁
2020 has been one of the most difficult years that many of us have experienced, but in the face of adversity our community has come together and become stronger than ever. We know that there are people within our own community that need a helping hand and are especially vulnerable to the circumstances we find ourselves in.
Milford Haven School and Milford Youth Matters have together obtained funding for 50 mini hampers, to help support some of our most vulnerable community members. Christmas and the month of December can be hard for some families in a normal year, and these mini hampers will contain a selection of household basics to help alleviate some of the additional stresses and strains currently being created by CVD and the surrounding restrictions.
If you know of someone in Milford Haven that could benefit from one of our hampers please fill out the form linked below to nominate them.
During these difficult and ever changing times of CVD19 we have worked hard to keep our school calendar alive, however there are some face to face events that simply cannot be replaced with online or remote alternatives.
Sadly, due to the current restrictions in place, we have had to postpone the Senior Certificate Evening which was calendared for Thursday 17th December 2020.
Given the nature of the event and it’s audience, combined with the restrictions which are likely to be in place following Christmas, the proposed new date for the event is Thursday 1st July 2021. We will of course review this closer to the time, but we are ever hopeful that we will be in a very different position towards the end of this academic year.
For any Year 11 and 13 leavers who wish to receive their certificates before the event in July, they can be collected from the Main Office from 1st Dec onwards.
Thank you to everyone that has signed up to our MHS 100 Reasons, as always we really appreciate the support from our school community.
Sadly, although we have had extremely positive feedback and lots of praise for the project, we have not recruited enough members to proceed. Sadly that means that at this time we will not be able to run ‘MHS 100 Reasons’, but will put a pin in it for now as this is a project we would like to revisit in the future.
If you have signed up already all cash payments will be refunded, cheques will not be banked, and if you have set up a standing order please cancel with your bank. Again, thank you all so very much for your continued support.
We have attached below some useful information from Welsh Government for parents and carers. This includes details on the Track & Trace system currently in operation, and also when and for how long you may need to isolate.

Thank you to everyone that has continues to ensure that their children attend school in proper school uniform. It is important that pupils wear the correct clothing as our uniform helps to put all young people on an equal footing, supports the safeguarding of your children and creates a sense of school community. If you are having issues with sourcing school uniform please be aware that there is a grant available from PCC for those that qualify, and we also have a small amount of uniform stock at school for emergencies. Details of our school uniform can be found on our school website, along with a copy of the dress code policy.

There have been lots of new rules and tweaks to our school systems since the start of this academic year to ensure that we are doing everything possible to keep our whole school community safe, and these changes will all remain in place for the rest of this term. Some of our new strategies implemented include a one way system, almost 100 additional hand sanitising stations around school, and all staff and pupils have been provided with face masks. As adults we all check for the basics before we leave home- keys, wallet, phone. ✅
MHS pupils we need you all to check before leaving home that you have – a face mask, a drink of water, your own set of stationery. ✅
We at MHS are doing everything we can to support the safety of our whole school community, but it is vital we all play our part. ⚓️
All parents and carers in all year groups have been issued login codes for our school app WEDUC, this is one of the easiest ways to keep in touch with us and stay up to date with school life.
Please contact us if you need any support getting started with the app, or have any trouble logging in, so we can help you get connected.
