Some important information for the families of all our pupils. We recently sent out a google form to all staff and pupils regarding changing Aspire time. The majority voted to returning this session to 8:45am. We took this to the Governors for discussion, and they have agreed with our proposals, based on staff and pupil voice. Many arguments have been presented for this change to start in January 2020, as such the new day will look like the image below and will start on JANUARY 6th, 2020.

Thank you to the parents and carers that were able to attend the AGPM this week, we very much appreciate your support in driving the school forward to provide the best education possible for your children. Your input is extremely valuable to us and we thank you for your attendance.

Congratulations to our newly appointed Junior Prefects pictured below, plus Jenny Algeri from Year 11 who was unavailable for this photo. These dedicated Year 11 pupils applied for this new role with an aim to support our senior prefects with whole school and community events. At the end of last week they were presented with their Junior Prefect ties, and will no doubt wear them with pride. Longyfarchiadau!

A huge thank you to everyone that supported our annual Christmas Bingo this week, it was a pleasure to welcome you all into Milford Haven School for such a fun and festive event!

A special thanks to all of the individuals and businesses that very kindly donated prizes, we are extremely grateful for your support- events like this would not be possible without the involvement of our community. This event raised money which will be split across the four Houses’ chosen charities- PATCH, Give the Boys a Life, Sandy Bears and Greenacres. Keep your eyes peeled next week for more details of the money raised being given out to aid some incredible local charities that support some of the most vulnerable members of our own communities. Diolch yn fawr pawb.

Our year 9 SEREN students have enjoyed a fantastic taster of University life at Cardiff Metropolitan University this week. These talented MHS ambassadors enjoyed lectures in Biomedical Science, Finance and Sports Science. It’s great to see school based theory in practice in the labs and lecture rooms. Da iawn to all those who attended and represented themselves and the school to such a high standard.

What’s on next week:

Tuesday 17.12.19- Senior Certificate Evening

Wednesday 18.12.19- KS4 Reward Trip

Thursday 19.12.19- KS3 Reward Trip

Thursday 19.12.19- Sixth Form Ball

Friday 20.12.19- MHS Christmas Jumper Day

Yesterday Milford Haven School held a mock election to give a political voice to all our pupils who are too young to vote in the general election. The sixth form counted the votes under supervision of their elected presiding officer, and the winner of our MHS mock election as voted for by the student body was Labour.

Thank you to all those involved in setting up and running this fantastic live learning experience.
