If you look outside you will see that Autumn has well and truly arrived. With this new season comes a very big change in weather after the lovely sunshine we enjoyed recently. We wanted to take this opportunity to remind parents and carers that we recommend all pupils wear a school jumper to school every day and bring with them a waterproof coat so they are prepared for the current weather conditions, and able to be comfortable during the school day.
If for any reason you are having difficulty sourcing school jumpers or coats please contact the school and we will do all we can to assist you. All pupils at MHS have now been issued with a reusable face mask, manufacturers have advised that they can each be washed up to 50 times. Please note that we have limited stock of single use masks for emergencies, it is important that pupils remember to bring their mask with them to school every day and wear it in all areas where social distancing is not possible. Thank you all for your ongoing support in following the Government advice regarding the wearing of face masks, aiding us to keep all members of our school family safe. 
 
The Family Forum is not taking place in its usual format at present, but we are taking the meeting online. Apologies but we did experience technical difficulties on Monday 28.9.20, and that meeting has now been rescheduled for 5.30pm Monday October 5th. If you would like to take part in our virtual Family Forum next week please email gbaker@milfordhavenschool.co.uk and you will be sent an event link.
As many of you will already know the Macmillan Coffee Morning been extremely well supported here at Milford Haven School over recent years. Sadly it wasn’t possible for us to invite the community into school this year as we have previously done- so we got creative to try and think of a way to still support this worthy cause, and came up with the idea of treat boxes for staff. Although it wasn’t a large scale event as in previous years, we continued the tradition of supporting the Macmillan coffee morning – but Covid style for 2020. Today we have raised just under £250 for Macmillan, and as always are so proud of our school community for all they do to support a variety of charities.
A special thank you to Ms Sizer for baking her heart out this week, Katie and Maureen who we could not have done this without, and the wonderful 6th form helpers that packed and delivered each order this morning.
An extra thank you to Upper Crust on Charles Street for coming to our rescue, the cake boxes we ordered didn’t arrive in time and they came to our rescue saving the event. We really appreciate your support.
The return of Hot Chocolate Friday last week was a very special occasion, and we look forward to celebrating many more wonderful MHS students over the coming weeks. Da iawn pawb.
We are aware that another local secondary school has shared a safety warning regards to inappropriate messaging via Instagram. Whilst this incident doesn’t directly affect pupils here at MHS, we wanted to take this opportunity to remind our parents and carers how important it is to ensure that young people are safely using social media platforms. There is a link below to a useful web page designed to help families keep their Instagram accounts as secure as possible. 

Year 7 and 8 pupils have all been issues homework task booklets this week, these tasks are to be completed as supplementary to general homework. Below is a link to both Year 7 and Year 8 tasks books, as well as an advice sheet to help parents and carers support the completion of the work.
