Shwmae, and welcome back to another blog. This week our blog has been taken over by our Health and Well Being department. As we come towards the end of another fantastic academic year we wanted to take the opportunity to celebrate the fantastic sporting achievements of some of our young people here at Milford Haven School. 🟡Chloe Owen and her pony Llanarth Windor represented Wales at the International WHP team competition at Grantham and went to the National Championships where they won the Pretty Polly Heritage WHP National Championships of GB 2021. Chloe and Llanarth also qualified to compete in the Horse of the Year show.
🔵Tomas Carlson won the Under 10 PING Junior Tour Order of Merit for 2021.
🟡Bobby Jenkins was awarded the 2021 MHGC Nett Champion.
🔵 Connor competed at the Welsh Karate League Tournament in Neath. He won a silver medal in the under 14s category.
🟡 Gethin achieved 3rd place in the overall champion in the Welsh Karate League and won a silver medal in the Under 16’s category for the Welsh Karate League.
🔵 Two MHS pupils were nominated for a Sport Pembrokeshire Award for 2021. Leon Davies for the Disability Sport Award and Owen Rickard for the Under 16s Award in Rugby.
🟡 118 MHS pupils in Years 8 -11 attended the Wales V Belgium football game.
🔵Our U14 girls became Pembrokeshire hockey champions- winning all of their games.
🟡 Maddie was selected for the Cricket Wales West Wales under 13’s development squad.
🔵 Chloe competed at the Welsh National Senior Championships and came away with a Bronze medal.
🟡Rowan and Lily ran in the 2022 Welsh Schools Cross Country Championships in Brecon.
🔵 Pupils had an amazing experience watching the Wales v Austria game in Cardiff.
🟡 A group of pupils took part in the U13’s Girls Indoor Cricket Festival (ECB Cup)
🔵 Multiple MHS pupils won the U15s Pembrokeshire League Cup with Neyland AFC.
🟡 Rowan Dixon scored the winning goal in 2-1 win for Cardiff ADC against Southampton ADC.
🔵 We celebrated the GCSE class of 2022.
🟡 51 pupils took part in the Pembrokeshire Schools Athletics County Sports Event 2022.
🔵 Year 9 & 10 girls made it to the Welsh Cup Final in Newton for the first time.
🟡 MHS pupil Opal took part in the Premier League Kicks Cup with Swansea City AFC Foundation.
🔵 Year 9 Bay students took part in a Sport Leadership programme run by Disability Sport Wales and Sport Pembrokeshire.
🟡3 MHS pupils became award winners in the Haverfordwest County Academy. Most Improved Player: Scott Paddison, Coaches’ Player: Harry Young, Coaches Player: Leo Power.
🔵30 MHS pupils attended a Vitality T20 Blast match as Glamorgan played Middlesex.
🟡6 pupils from MHS competed in a CrossFit competition where they worked in pairs against other schools in Pembrokeshire.
🔵Mia became the World Champion after competing in the World Championships in Blackpool.
