Estyn Inspection:
As you may be aware Milford Haven School was inspected by Estyn from the 27th to 30th November, 2017; their report has now been published. Firstly for those of you who attended the meeting with the inspectors I would like to thank you for your support and the positive messages you gave about the work of Milford Haven School.
There are some aspects of the report that we are pleased with and other areas which we need to target for immediate improvement. We are pleased to see how the school has been recognised as having ‘….an inclusive and caring ethos’ in which ‘The majority of teachers establish good working relationships with pupils which foster learning well’. Our school’s improvement in Key Stage 4 GCSE results over the last few years has also been recognised.
The recommendations give us a clear direction for improvement which will be incorporated into the School Improvement Plan. Indeed, we have already seen improvements in some areas such as punctuality this term due to the implementation of a new monitoring system which is supported by parents and carers.
The report is available on the Estyn website and can be found using the link below:
The report will also be on the school’s website. Copies of the report are available from the school by request from the main office. Copies in Welsh are also available if required.
