Croeso i’r Tŷ Ddraig!

Courage. Determination. Integrity.

If you are assigned into Dragon House you will be part of our community from the end of Year 7 until the time when you leave school whether that be in Year 11 or Year 13. During that time, you will represent Dragon in all things that you do with the opportunity to win house points that will help us to compete annually for the House Cup.

Pupils in Dragon will be expected to represent the house or school in a variety of different activities, to become positive members of the house who contribute fully to the wider school community.

Concern for every pupil is fundamental to what we do in Dragon. Our objective is to ensure that all of our students have the opportunity to fulfil their potential, be it through the academic, artistic, sporting or extra-curricular activities on offer.

Chosen charity 2019/20- Get The Boys A Lift

Each of our four Houses have a chosen charity that they support during the year, this year Dragon House have chosen to support Get The Boys A Lift, a local non-for-profit community interest organisation currently working to better improve mental health within Pembrokeshire.

Some of our Dragon ambassadors are pictured below giving Get The Boys A Lift a cheque for £100! This money was raised at community events such as the Christmas Bingo, and it would not have been possible for us to raise these much needed funds without the ongoing support of the community. Da iawn to all those in Dragon House that have worked hard and contributed to raising this fantastic amount of money for a very worthy local cause. Diolch yn fawr.

Our four Heads of House hosted a fantastic and festive night of fundraising in December.

Thanks to the support of our incredible school community our annual Christmas Bingo helped to raise hundreds of pounds, which was shared across the four chosen charities this year- Greenacres, PATCH, Sandy Bears and Get The Boys A Lift.

In addition to the general aims of the school, Dragon House have their own specific aims:

  •  to encourage pupils to achieve their potential, academically, and to participate positively in the wider aspects of school life
  • to provide a secure, supportive and friendly environment in which the pupils can develop
  • to foster a sense of personal and corporate responsibility and a willingness to serve others
  • to help individuals acquire the skills needed for working and living with others
  • to give pupils the opportunity to develop leadership skills
  • to encourage values such as sensitivity, honesty, courtesy and reliability

If there is anything at all that you wish to discuss then please do not hesitate to get in touch via the email address below.
