We are extremely proud to announce the launch of ‘Chromebooks for All’ here at Milford Haven School. At Milford Haven School we are committed to providing the best education possible for our pupils, and we are always striving to provide the highest level of support we are able to for our school community.
This includes access to resources and technology that will support learning and develop skills useful in employment and further education.
Like other forward thinking schools, colleges and universities, we have been developing our use of virtual and online learning, and the past year has been a powerful example on how technology can aid us to continue learning in even the most challenging circumstances. With that being said, we have decided to make a huge investment in our school community by purchasing a chromebook for each and every pupil at MHS. These chromebooks will be loaned to pupils for the duration of their time with us, ensuring that every pupil has the ability to fairly access technology and resources available to support their learning.
We will be rolling out these new devices when we return after the summer holidays, starting with distribution to Year 11. This will be done gradully a year group at a time, to ensure that pupils are supported to care for the equipment properly and also be able to make the most of the devices and all of the functions they offer to support learning. Letters will be sent home to parents and carers next week to inform our families on how ‘Chromebooks for All’ will operate, and what paperwork will be required from pupils and their parents & carers in order to be issued a brand new device.
Ms Morris, Headteacher, has said, “We feel proud and privileged to be in a position to loan chromebooks to every pupil at MHS. We know that technology can be an expensive investment for families, and I believe strongly that our pupils should have fair and equal access to anything that we are able to offer which nurtures learning and progression.”
