Thank you to everyone that took part in Odd Socks Day at MHS last week. It was a great way to celebrate what makes us all unique during Anti-Bullying Week! Da iawn pawb.
MHS Surfers Against Sewage
A huge well done to these amazing MHS pupils, for being so actively involved in the Surfers Against Sewage PUPIL POWER ASSEMBLY today.
Da iawn and thank you for your continued hard work. 👏 🌍❤️
MHS Christmas Fayre 2021- Cancelled
Sadly we have had to make the tough decision to cancel our Christmas Fayre this year.
As always the safety and wellbeing of our whole community is our priority, and we do not feel that it would be in the best interest of the community for us to go ahead as planned this year.
We will be back in 2022 bigger and better than ever before, and are still working hard behind the scenes to facilitate festive fun wherever possible to do so in line with the latest advice and guidance.
Diolch yn fawr for your understanding and continued support.
MHS Tags on the Tree 2021
All members of our MHS staff team were recently invited to take part in our annual ‘Tags on the Tree’ event, in support of Patch Charity Toy Appeal.
We are still in the process of collecting donations, but have already been blown away by the incredible generosity shown. Last year we donated gifts to almost 70 local families, and hope to support even more this year.
We very much look forward to delivering our team donation to PATCH in the coming week, and will hopefully make a real difference to local families in need and the Christmas they experience this year. 🎅 🎄 🎁
Milford Haven- the next generation of rock stars needs you!
At this time of year many of us will be having a really good sort out on the run up to the festive season. But did you know that if you have any instruments at home that are no longer being used you can donate them to MHS to support our young people?
It’s super simple, if you have an unused instrument simply drop it off at our main school reception between now and the end of term. We will clean it, tune it and get it ready for a new lease of life. Then finally we match it with a student that is keen to learn a musical instrument but doesn’t currently have access to an instrument.
And then we sit back and watch the talent grow!
A message from the School Nursing Team:
The school nurses will be coming back to Milford Haven School on the 3rd of December to do a Nasal flu vaccine mop up session.
Please be aware that the team will only be vaccinating the pupils that brought back forms by the allocated date and were absent for the last session (11/10/21). If your child has had the Nasal flu vaccine between the 11th of October and the 3rd of December at the GP please contact the school nurses on- 01646 698359 to inform them. Diolch yn fawr.
MHS Virtual Open Evening
On Tuesday November 30th we will share with you an updated Virtual Open Evening!
Our annual MHS Open Evening is a highlight of the school calendar, last year we adapted the event to bring you a virtual alternative and we will be doing the same again this year.
On Tuesday November 30th we will share with our wider community an insight into life here at MHS via our school website. You will be introduced to members of the MHS team, hear from current pupils, and also have a sneak peak into some lessons seeing pupils studying a variety of subject areas.
More details to follow over the coming days- but this is a date for your diary!
Winter and the colder months are now upon us, and with a recent drop in temperature we have had an increased number of enquiries regarding the school fleece for pupils.
Please see below a direct link to the online stockist of our school fleece should you wish to purchase one, as well as a link to our general school uniform. Diolch
Competition Time
Mrs Griffiths is feeling extremely generous and has a crisp £50 note up for grabs for year 11!
A card will be issued to all learners this week, on which staff can sign to confirm attendance at any revision sessions which pupils attend in their own time. Once the card is completed, it should be returned to Mrs Griffiths for the prize draw, which will take place just before February half term. Any sessions attended in Sept/Oct can be backdated by staff. You have to be in it to win it- pob lwc pawb!
Our Senior Certificate Evening always provides us with the opportunity to celebrate the achievements of past learners, and remains a firm highlight of the school calendar. Given the recent changes to the local risk rating for COVID19, the decision has been made to reschedule this event from Thursday 16th December 2021 to Thursday 30th June 2022.
Should any year 11/13 learners who left in August 2021 wish to collect their GCSE/A level certificates in advance of this date, they will be available for collection at the main school reception from 1st December. Diolch yn fawr pawb.
This term we have had a number of new staff join MHS, we will be sharing some short profiles to help you get to know some of the new members of our team.

GCSE POD is a fantastic resource which Milford Haven School continues to promote amongst learners and their parents/carers.

GCSE POD holds a wealth of support for a range of subjects, with some content specific for KS3 as well as KS4. Learners are encouraged to use their MHS Google log-in to access the site and start exploring the site which could prove extremely beneficial for our KS4 learners.
Please look at the following parent site tour where you can see what is on offer:
Young person’s mental health toolkit from HWB.
Below is a link to the young person’s mental health toolkit from HWB, designed for 11 to 25-year-olds. Here you will find six playlists to direct you to a wide range of online resources to help you through the lockdown and beyond. In each of the playlists you’ll find self-help websites, apps, helplines, and more that are here to support your mental health and well-being.
Please remember: if you’re finding it difficult to cope, make sure you speak to someone you trust. Who this might be is different for everyone, but it might include family members or carers, a teacher, a helpline, or a doctor. How you feel is important and lots of people are here to help if you need them.
